The British are coming. The British are coming. This time though, I can guarantee you, you want the British to invade. In recent years there has been an increasing occurrence of international retailers and fashion stores setting up shop in America. This is great because it gives people even more options to choose from other than the typical H&M and Zara, we all know and love. Topshop is extremely popular in Europe. The store recently entered American market with the opening of stores in New York, LA and Las Vegas. Topshop also recently teamed up with Beyonce for the launch of her athleisure line Ivy Park. This retailer offers a wide variety of beauty and fashion collections, making it easy to find the perfect summer outfit, professional outfit or vintage inspired piece.
Miss Selfridge is a high street store, owned by the same group as Topshop. It was launched as as the young adult fashion section of the UK department store, Selfridges. It currently has 6 stores across the United States. Miss Selfridge has collaborated with various celebrities fover the years. The list includes supermodels Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell.
This is TopShop’s brother store. It exclusively sells male clothing. A high street men store that has expanded internationally in recent years. Topman was created in the late 70’s to pave the way for a new approach towards high street male fashion. The fashion retailer has been nominated for various awards throughout the years. Its awards included the Menswear Design of the Year presented by the British Fashion Council and Best Fashion Retailer, awarded in 2005 by the Maxim Style Awards.
This upscale Spanish Fashion chain has stores in more than 100 countries. Their first entry into the United States market was through JC Penney. When the five year deal expired, mango closed its sales outlets an instead focused on its standalone stores in California, New York and Miami. There are only seven Mango stores in the United States, if you’re close to one of them, you should definitely check it out. You won’t regret it.
Everyone in England knows and loves Primark. It’s where you go to get the cheap essentials. It’s like Forever 21 on steroids! Their flagship store opened up in Downtown Boston two years ago and from the constant crowds and long checkout lines. You can tell that Bostonians love it. What’s there not to love? Good clothes at extremely cheap prices – yes please! You can find sweaters, jeans, workwear, shoes for less than $10.
